Location Known as the cradle of our nation, Virginia is steeped in tradition and history. You'll find plenty to discover right outside your door. The river and creek provide the perfect setting for walks, as well as explorations in our canoes. There's even a walled 18th century garden for you to enjoy, and down the lane our rare 18th century icehouse to visit.
Journey back in time. Innkeepers Breck and Mary Montague invite you to travel back to a more peaceful and relaxing time. The Inn is just 55 minutes from the Richmond airport and 21/2 hours from Washington, D.C. By car, take Rt. 17 to Gloucester Court House. Take Rt. 14 East towards Mathews. Once on Rt. 14 go 3 1/2 miles to Rt. 622(Toddsbury Lane) on the right. North River Inn is 1 1/2 miles strait ahead. Or, come by boat and tie up at our deep water dock.
